Questions and answers
Does Smile diagnose or treat anything?
No. Smile is a self-reflection tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose or treat any condition, and results are starting points for your own thinking, not clinical advice.
What should I do if I feel unsafe?
Contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away. If you are struggling, please talk to a doctor, therapist or counselor.
Are the journal replies written by AI?
By default the reply is generated on your device from what you wrote. If you choose to turn on AI replies (Premium), an AI model writes it through our reply service. It is not a chatbot conversation and it does not pretend to be a therapist. AI replies are off by default and can be switched off in Me.
Where is my journal stored?
Your profile, journal entries, mood check-ins, test answers and course progress stay in local storage on your device. Me, then Delete all my data, clears them.
How does pricing work?
Every new user gets a short full-access trial. After that, the self-tests, courses and extras are part of Premium, offered as a weekly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase through Google Play. Most locked tests can also be unlocked one at a time by watching an optional rewarded ad, and Premium removes ads.
Which platform is it on?
Smile is available for Android on Google Play.
